FAQ

What business is Wilson Handcrafted Cabinetry in?
We produce residential cabinetry with our specialties in Kitchens and Baths.

What material are cabinets made of?
We use white or maple melamine, or pre-finished plywood for our cabinet boxes, depending upon your budget and preference. Drawer boxes options include both wood dovetailed boxes with concealed slides and Airmatic shock absorbers down to white epoxy coated metal sides self closers. For Stained Cabinets, we work with all wood species including, but not limited to, Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry, Alder, Maple, both Oaks, Ash, Hickory/Pecan, Knotty Pine and Knotty Alder. Doors that have a painted finish, may have an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) panel because of MDF's inability to move, reducing the chance of cracking or shifting within the door frame. However, if you prefer solid wood panels, we will be to build them for you.

What are the benefits of using Custom Cabinets vs. pre-manufactured cabinetry?
While the cost of Custom Cabinetry often exceeds the expense of pre-manufactured cabinetry, there are benefits which make Custom Cabinetry worth the money. The first of those reasons is Quality, Quality, Quality! Truly Custom Cabinets are 'always' made of better material. For instance, the box material in pre-manufactured cabinets is usually 3/8 to 1/2 inch material, whereas our custom built boxes are from 3/4 inch material. This alone helps the stability of the box and shelves, and therefore increases the longevity of the cabinets. And this doesn't mention the value of solid wood doors, the durability of the hinges and drawer slides, etc. Next, custom cabinets are made to fit. They're exactly the right size so there's no wasted precious space. And finally, they can be made ay style, color, height, etc. With Custom Cabinetry, your kitchen can express exactly the aura that you want it to.

What are the finishes available for Custom Cabinetry?
'The sky's the limit!' We have many, many samples available in our showroom, and will gladly create any new one that you have envisioned that we might not already have. If possible, bring us a picture of what you have in mind. Our finishing department is excellent with antiquing, glazing, white washing, distressing, crackling and all standard stains.

How does Wilson Cabinetry's cabinet price compare to that of other cabinet manufacturers?
Wilson Cabinetry builds high-end cabinetry that's surprisingly affordable. Our prices compete well with other cabinet makers, including pre-manufactured cabinetry. As you shop for the cabinetry that's right for you, always keep in mind that pricing depends on variables like the trim package, complexity of the finish work, style and material of your doors, etc. We rarely can give a price per foot quote until selections for each of these items have been made. We welcome the opportunity to see house plans or visit your home to give you a quote that's specific to your project. (Note: It is very important for you to remember that price is not everything. You will be working with your cabinet maker for several weeks, perhaps even months, and if you and he/she do not get along comfortably, you'll likely be frustrated and unhappy with the end product. Look for a cabinet maker that you're comfortable with and that is reasonable with their price.)

What geographic area does Wilson Cabinetry work in?
Most of our work is in the Metro Atlanta area including Buckhead and Sandy Springs. We do travel out of state with several projects in Florida and North Carolina.

Is the price of installation included in my quote?
Yes! Unlike many cabinet vendors, there are no hidden costs with Wilson Handcrafted Cabinetry. What we quote you, we stick with unless you request changes or add to your job.

Will Wilson Cabinetry install my cabinetry?
Yes, Wilson Cabinetry will provide a qualified cabinet installer for your project.

Will Wilson Cabinetry build counter tops for me?
Wilson Cabinetry will build wood or laminate counter tops for you but we do not offer other types of counter tops.

What if I want Granite tops or Cambria tops?
We do not fabricate granite tops, but will be happy to recommend a trusted fabricator who is as qualified at what they do as we are at cabinets.
